We have found that hospitals want to be able to use their own staff to mark the instruments. They are therefore very interested in just how easy it is to use the marking equipment.
In practice it takes no more than one hour to achieve a basic level of competence in operating the equipment and marking instruments. It is then a question of building up experience and confidence in being able to mark the more complex sizes and shapes of surgical instrument.
As an example we have three videos below that were taken during such a training session at a UK hospital. The operator on the videos had completed the basic familiarisation with the equipment and was now marking hospital instruments.
